Q: What is chiropractic?

A: Chiropractic is a health care field that focuses on the body as a whole, rather than just symptoms. It is our understanding of the integration of the nervous system with its surrounding spinal column that makes Chiropractors unique. We understand that every cell, tissue, organ, and system in your body fuctions if and only if the brain and nervous system has proper communication with each of them. There are millions of ways to break this communication. Spinal misalignments (subluxation), scoliosis, disc bulges, disc herniations, muscle spasms, poor posture, whiplash injuries, sports injuries, etc. can all cause a break in this vital communication. If any link in the chain of communication between the nervous system and the rest of the body is compromised, then your health will be compromised. This may appear in the form of pain, sickness, disease, or any combination of these. However, more often than not you won't experience any of these, and your health may be deteriorating. You see our bodies have been "over built", in other words we may not feel any symptoms until well in to the disease process. This uaually makes it harder to treat.

Q: Why BACC?
A: At BACC we practice a technique called CBP. It is the only technique that is commited to advanced research in the field of spinal biomechanics for chiropractors. They are the most widely published entity in the peer reviewed medical literature for spinal biomechanics and Chiropractic. This is the only facility in the Yuba-Sutter area that is doing this type
of work. We are committed to doing this type of work because we know that it is
the only chiropractic technique in the world that has PROVEN to improve spinal
biomechanics. It is the only technique to publish this proof in peer reviewed
medical literature.

Q: What is the goal at BACC?
A: Our goal is not just to get you out of pain. It has been well established that treating only your symptoms and not correcting your condition will lead to a vicious cycle. That cycle consists of periods of symptoms followed by periods of no symptoms. But because the problem was never “fixed, or corrected to as near normal as possible” the period of time when you are symptom free between becomes shorter and the periods of time when you are experiencing symptoms itself becomes longer, usually to the point when there is no longer any time between them and the symptoms never go away. Our goal is to correct your spinal biomechanics, or get your spine to as near normal as possible.

Q: What makes BACC different from other chiropractic offices?
A:  It’s very simple: WE WILL SHOW YOU YOUR RESULTS. And when you have
reached maximum spinal correction your are done with care and are placed on a
maintenance program. There is no guessing. You will see your changes on x-ray.
This is something that other chiropractors do NOT do.

Q: What should you expect from your care?
A:  Our commitment to provide the best possible chiropractic care available. Improvements in your spinal biomechanics.Improvements in your posture. Reduction of your symptoms Your results shown to you on x-ray

Q: Will My spine be completely “fixed” after care?
A: This will depend mostly on you. Everyone responds differently to care. But keep in mind progress can only be made if you are willing to commit to care. Our goal is to get you to as “near normal as possible”. There will be a maximum amount of improvement that you can achieve, and everyone’s maximum is different.

Q: Will I have to come back for more treatment after I reach maximum
improvement?

A:  It is recommended that you stay on a “maintenance” program. Just like brushing
your teeth, your spine needs to be maintained. The frequency of your maintenance
schedule will depend on how well you retain your improvement. Which in turn is
dictated by your daily ergonomics and body mechanics.

Q: Will my symptoms go away immediately?
A: Everyone responds differently to care. Most of the time the symptoms go away BEFORE spinal correction is done. Obviously continuing on with the program is a must. If not, it is just “patch care” and symptoms WILL return. Occasionally symptoms may not be relieved until well after maximum improvement has been achieved. This is because it may take a while for the pain nerves to “turn off” or the scar tissue is still “remodeling”, in this scenario we continue to monitor your condition even though you may or may not be coming into the office for treatment.
